The problem
The number in your bank account answers the wrong question. It says what is sitting there today. It does not say what is already promised to rent, to a bill that has not posted yet, or to the days you still have to get through before you are paid. The balance looks like spending money. The shortage shows up later, often as an overdraft or a cash advance you did not mean to take.
People run short in that gap even when they are paying attention. Pay lands on one day. Bills leave across the others. A recap of last month can be accurate and still arrive after the week is already gone. The moment that matters is smaller and sooner: you are about to spend, and you need to know whether this week can take it.
The approach
Soverm connects to your bank through Plaid, read-only. It can see what is coming in and what is going out. It cannot send money, and you do not enter a card before you see anything.
Once the accounts are linked, it works out what is left until payday, after the bills that are already spoken for. Then it says that in ordinary language. A week is Fine, Tight, or Needs attention. A month is Stable, Tight, or At risk. That is the whole vocabulary. The words are specific enough to act on, and short enough to check without sitting down to do your finances.
The first reading shows up within minutes of the link. After that, the week and the month keep pace with the calendar, so the picture updates while you can still change how the rest of it goes.
The outcome
You get a clear amount left until payday, and a plain reading of the week and the month around it. If the week is fine, you can spend without the low worry that you misread the balance. If the week is tight, or the month is at risk, you find out while there is still time to wait, move a purchase, or cut something small.
Nothing moves unless you move it. Soverm puts the next paycheck, and the bills that sit between now and then, on one page. You see the squeeze early enough that an advance is something you need less.
